Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta shared how impressed he was with the way in which David Moyes set up his West Ham team at the Emirates on Saturday, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers went to the Emirates with a clear game plan. They played with a deep block, and attempted to hit the Gunners on the counter.
And it worked.
West Ham looked dangerous throughout the entire game. And they were incredibly lucky not to draw the match against Arsenal, if not win it.
The problem for West Ham is that only results matter at this stage of the season. And they are quite simply not racking up enough points at the moment.
Arteta told reporters just how impressed he was with Moyes and his Hammers side nonetheless, as quoted by Football.London:
“I learned a lot about him, he’s a man with incredible values and with a great work ethic. He showed today with the game plan he put in the type of manager he is. It was awkward because I started this adventure in England with him, as a manager he was the one who showed the faith to bring me to the Premier League and I’m very grateful for him.”
West Ham must take heart form their recent displays. But those performances must start to translate into points. And fast.
It’s Wolves at home up next for the Hammers.
And Moyes’s men must be on their very best form, if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of taking three points from their clash with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
