West Ham’s attempts to sign Yacine Brahimi and further their summer of impressive spending have come to an end after the winger failed to agree personal terms with the club, according to Sky Sports.

They report that the Hammers had agreed a transfer fee to land the 28-year-old winger from Porto, but he will not move to east London due to the failure to agree terms.

They do claim, however, that Manuel Pellegrini still has an interest in his club team-mate Moussa Marega and hopes to conclude a deal before the transfer deadline.

The arrival of another winger would surely have spelled a definitive end to Michail Antonio’s West Ham career.

He has been linked with a move across London to Crystal Palace after Pellegrini’s intense summer spending and overhaul of the playing style looks to have made the former Nottingham Forest man something of a spare part.

The failure to land Brahimi should hand him something of a temporary reprieve – and he did play in the 1-0 friendly win over Angers to round off pre-season.

However, it is clear that Pellegrini is still looking to upgrade his options and it appears his days in a Hammers shirt are numbered.
