West Ham put in a magnificent display against Bournemouth yesterday, and every single player deserves credit for their respective performances.
David Moyes seems to have made an instant impact at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were more organised and looked like a completely different side.
And with that in mind, here are five things we learned from West Ham’s win against the Cherries…
When we press, we are a very good side
Moyes obviously instilled into his team the importance of pressing as a unit. When Pablo Fornals pressed, Felipe Anderson tucked in and vice versa. When Robert Snodgrass pressed, Mark Noble and Declan Rice filled in on the right hand flank.
It really was an impressive change from the previous 20 Premier League games this season, and if the east London outfit can keep that up, they will have no problems at all this term.
Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena are our best centre-back partnership
The Italian and the Paraguayan were rock solid yesterday. The duo have forged a wonderful understanding between each other.
Issa Diop is still a great prospect for the future, but as things stand, he will find it incredibly hard to force his way back into the West Ham starting line-up anytime soon.
Noble still has so much to offer
The Hammers skipper was purring yesterday. He dictated the tempo of the game from start to finish and underlined once again just how important he is to David Moyes’s side.
The 32-year-old has been criticised in recent weeks, but when he’s on form, he makes West Ham look like a top class outfit.
Anderson excels when played centrally
The Brazilian scored his first goal of the season yesterday, and his overall display was right out of the top drawer.
Anderson looked like his old self once again, and he seemed to be far more dangerous when playing centrally.
Moyes made the decision to play the former Lazio man in the number 10 role, just off of Sebastien Haller, and he looked much more potent than he has done out on the left wing this season.
Haller DOES have what it takes
The Frenchman looked like a different animal yesterday. His goal was superbly taken, but he put in a superb shift aside from that.
Haller was strong in the air, held the ball up well, and brought his teammates into play more than he has done previously so far this season.
