West Ham were reportedly interested in signing Willy Caballero on a free transfer, as per The London Evening Standard. But he has since penned fresh terms with Chelsea.

The Hammers are looking for a new goalkeeper with Adrian set to leave. The popular Spaniard will bring an end to six years at West Ham when his contract expires.

But Adrian’s departure leaves a hole in the squad. West Ham will need a new back-up goalkeeper to provide cover for Lukasz Fabianski. And Caballero will not be joining.

So, here are three other potential free transfers West Ham could explore to solve the goalkeeper problem…

Guillermo Ochoa

Standard Liege goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa looks set to leave this summer. His two-year deal with the Belgian club ends this summer and he has played 86 games in total.

The 33-year-old is vastly experienced with nearly 500 senior career appearances to his name. This includes spells in Mexico, France, Spain and Belgium.

While the 100-cap Mexico goalkeeper will not be a first-choice, he could be a sensible short-term back-up option for West Ham.

Michel Vorm

Tottenham Hotspur will probably get rid of goalkeeper Michel Vorm this summer. The veteran stopper has fallen behind Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga in the pecking order.

The 35-year-old is another player with lots of experience between the sticks. With over 300 senior appearances for FC Utrecht, Den Bosch, Swansea City and Spurs, Vorm fits the bill.

As a short-term option, Vorm could fill in until Nathan Trott is ready to take the back-up spot. And a move to West Ham could appeal to the 15-cap Holland stopper as he would not have to change location.

Kelle Roos

There are a few Championship goalkeepers who are set to become free agents this summer. These names include Frank Fielding, Keiren Westwood and Kelle Roos.

As back-up options, all three would be solid free transfers. Fielding (Bristol City), Westwood (Sheffield Wednesday) and Roos (Derby) are all first-choice options at their respective clubs.

Roos has taken the gloves from Scott Carson this season and has thoroughly impressed. The towering 6ft 5in Dutchman commands his box well and is a strong shot-stopper.

The 26-year-old will currently be preparing for the play-off final. But if the Rams fall short against Aston Villa, West Ham should consider this free transfer.
