3 ex-Man City players that Manuel Pellegrini should reunite with at West Ham

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is slowly but surely building his West Ham squad as his project in East London continues.

His most recent signing was free agent Samir Nasri, who he worked with at Manchester City. Pablo Zabaleta is another player from Pellegrini’s Man City era to be at West Ham.

Pellegrini had great success at The Etihad Stadium, winning the title with the Citizens in his first season.

There are several players that he might consider reuniting with at West Ham. Here are three possible suggestions.

Matija Nastastic

West Ham need a new central defender with Fabian Balbuena and Winston Reid out injured. Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna are the two centre-backs filling in at the moment and Pellegrini needs a third.

Matija Nastastic could be a shrewd acquisition as a player pushing for first-team starts. The 25-year-old is currently at Schalke, having spent three seasons at Man City.

With 21 games to his name this season, the Serbia international is a regular in the Bundesliga and could be an asset for the Hammers.

If West Ham could convince James Milner to leave Liverpool, then he could be a solid short-term fix at The London Stadium.

The ex-England international is versatile, providing an option on the wing, in central midfield or in either full-back spot.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season, so Pellegrini could try to get him on a pre-contract agreement.

Veteran striker Edin Dzeko could be another short-term fix for West Ham, given his goal scoring record.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international scored 50 Premier League goals at Man City and currently plays for Roma.

The Daily Star claims that Pellegrini could move to reunite with the 32-year-old if Marko Arnautovic leaves.
