Xande Silva a centre-forward solution for David Moyes?

Xande Silva may well be the answer to West Ham United’s centre-forward woes.

Now, we’re not suggesting for one minute that David Moyes shouldn’t bring a new striker to the London Stadium this summer.

The Hammers boss absolutely has to sign a top class centre-forward…certainly if we are to have any chance whatsoever of competing on all fronts next season.

The problem for West Ham, however, is that we actually need to sign at least two strikers.

Michail Antonio was the only recognised senior striker at the London Stadium after Sebastien Haller left for Ajax in January.

Strengthening sufficiently in the attacking department will be difficult with a small budget.

There could be another solution for Moyes, however.

Xande Silva… one more chance?

The Portuguese youngster is now 24! I know right, we couldn’t believe it either.

If the former Vitoria de Guimaraes striker is going to make it, this season will be his one final chance to prove he has what it takes.

Mipo Odubeko is clearly not ready for regular first-team action, as undeniably talented as he is.

So Silva may well be a good option for us as our third choice striker. He could play the cup games and get the odd few minutes here and there in the Premier League.

Who knows, he might just surprise a few people.

Xande Silva has always had impressive pace in his locker. And if the 24-year-old can improve his finishing during pre-season, David Moyes may well have a very useful asset at his disposal next season.
