Samir Nasri started his first Premier League game for West Ham and thoroughly impressed the fans.

West Ham faced Arsenal in a London derby at The London Stadium in Saturday’s early kick-off and earned an impressive 1-0 win.

Declan Rice scored his first goal for West Ham, just two days before his 20th birthday, to seal a narrow victory.

And it was Nasri that set the 19-year-old up for the goal. On his first start for West Ham in the league, Nasri produced his first assist.

The 31-year-old picked up a loose ball in the box after Felipe Anderson’s cross was half-cleared. And showing great composure, Nasri took one touch and laid the ball into the path of Rice.

West Ham’s teenage sensation did the rest, sending the ball into the top corner from inside the box.

Hammers fans were very impressed with Nasri’s performance, especially considering he has just returned from an 18-month doping ban.

After joining West Ham and getting match fit, the Frenchman has already got himself back up to speed with Premier League football.

Here are some tweets from West Ham fans discussing Nasri’s cameo against former club Arsenal.
