West Ham United have once again been linked with a move for Rangers star Alfredo Morelos.
According to a report from The Sun, West Ham are interested in signing Rangers’s Colombian striker in the next window.
It comes after Claret & Hugh claimed recently that West Ham were focused on bringing their ‘priority’ signing in the summer, a striker partner for record buy Sebastien Haller.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to build a new-look West Ham team of young, hungry, energetic, hardworking players.
West Ham linked with fresh move for Rangers star Morelos
And Morelos ticks all those boxes with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard recently describing the temperamental 23-year-old hitman as ‘world-class’ (Daily Record).
It is not the first time Gers star Morelos has been linked with West Ham.
Last summer West Ham were said to be pursuing the forward as his Ibrox future was cast into doubt (Daily Star).
West Ham would have to pay around £20million for Morelos, according to the Daily Record. But West Ham might be able to get that price down with transfer values and business expected to fall dramatically due to the financial impact of the ongoing global health crisis.
With football shut down, reporters do not have the chance to put such the Morelos claims to Gerrard or Moyes.
What Gerrard said about Morelos Hammers links last summer
So we looked back at Gerrard’s comments on the situation last summer.
And it is fair to say the Rangers boss got very twitchy about the possibility of losing Morelos to West Ham.
While Gerrard made it clear he wanted to keep his star man, he also recognised a big bid would see Morelos leave.
“I can’t control the speculation and as a club we haven’t got a decision to make because a bid hasn’t come in,” Gerrard told Sky Sports.
“Do I think something will happen? Possibly, but that’s me guessing and trying to predict the future.
“Does anyone want Alfredo Morelos? I don’t know, I can’t answer that question. But if they do they best bring a really big offer.
“If someone wants to spend a lot of money on a centre-forward they’ll have to come early. Because it won’t happen late. If he did end up going he’d be impossible to replace with days or weeks to go in the window.
“We don’t want him to go but every player has a price. I’m not going to sit here and say he’s not going out the door. Because if a bid lands that the board like and they want to accept, it’s a completely different conversation. But that hasn’t happened. There hasn’t been one single bid.”
‘Every player has his price’ – Irritated Gers boss threatened to put Colombian on the stand
Later on in the summer window, Gerrard grew tired of the Morelos to West Ham links. So tired in fact that he threatened to put the striker on the stand to answer the questions himself.
“Alfredo is a huge part of what we’re trying to do here,” an irritated Gerrard told the press, as broadcast on Sky Sports News last July.
“Instead of me answering this question every single press conference I’m going to do everything I can to put Alfredo in front of you guys, and you can ask him the question ‘Whether he wants to be part of this going forward’ because I can only say I want him to be part of it.
“But the decision lands with Alfredo. So I’m sure now he’s been in this country for how long, two or three years, I’m sure he knows how to answer yes and no so Robert (Rangers communications team) can we have Alfredo up here please (soon) to save me answering the question every time? I’ll do my best for you,” Gerrard said to the gathered reporters as broadcast on Sky Sports News.
West Ham have also been linked with a summer move for Brentford striker Ollie Watkins (The Sun).
