What Said Benrahma did when a West Ham United fan jumped on the pitch at Brighton proves he’s a top bloke.

West Ham beat Brighton 3-1 on Saturday evening, and Said Benrahma played a key role for the team when he replaced the injured Tomas Soucek.

The 28-year-old has received plenty of stick since he moved to the London Stadium from Brentford in October 2020.

His final ball is sometimes lacking in quality and he definitely needs to be more decisive inside the final third – something that David Moyes continually demands of the winger.

However, he is consistently our most threatening attacking outlet and always tries to make something happen.

Benny is hugely popular amongst the Hammers fanbase as well. The reason for that is because he is just one of us at heart…

Benny’s passion and love for the club always shines through when he puts on the Hammers shirt.

He certainly has a real affiliation with the West Ham fans, and he proved just how much he cares about us once again on Saturday:

That wasn’t the first time Benrahma has done that. Remember when we beat Leeds 2-1 at Elland Road in the 2021/22 season? Exactly the same thing happened there.

Now, I’m not condoning fans running on the pitch at all, rather just highlighting the human side of the former Brentford man.

It was actually reported earlier on in the summer transfer window that the Algeria international could be sold this summer.

I think that selling Said Benrahma would be a big mistake, and his performance for West Ham against Brighton proves just how much he has to offer.

The thought of the 28-year-old linking up with Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus is a hugely exciting one.

And I’m really hoping that he remains at the London Stadium beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
