What David Moyes wants he doesn't get when it comes to new West Ham star Said Benrahma

David Moyes had a clear message for new West Ham United signing Said Benrahma before he jetted off to meet up with Algeria for the international break.

“We’ll be watching,” Moyes told Benrahma.

“Get some match practice and be ready.”

West Ham fans are clamouring for Benrahma to start. Hammers supporters are excited by their new boy.

West Ham fans crave Benrahma start after match-winning cameo

And with good reason after his dramatic impact in the win over Fulham last time out.

Benrahma almost scored before setting up the winner for Tomas Soucek in injury time.

He almost went from hero to villain when he gave away a harsh penalty at the death but Ademola Lookman stepped up and we all know what happened next.

Moyes has made it clear his new signings will be bedded in as he sees fit.

The Scot did the same with Jarrod Bowen when he first arrived at West Ham at the end of January.

Moyes wanted match fitness boost for Benrahma

Cameos here and there to get a taste of what to expect. Then unleashed when fully ready.

West Ham laboured for large spells against Fulham. And many supporters – while appreciative of the brilliant workrate of Pablo Fornals – want Benrahma’s pace and skill utilised from the beginning against Sheffield United next weekend.

Benraham had hardly played any football this season before signing for the Hammers.

So Moyes clearly wanted his new attacker to get some much-needed match fitness with Algeria.

But what Moyes wants he doesn’t always necessarily get, as the transfer window proved.

Said an unused sub as Moyes faces selection dilemma

That’s because Benrahma was an unused sub as Algeria beat Zimbabwe 3-1 in African Nations qualifying.

The West Ham man will get another chance to when the two sides meet again on Monday afternoon.

Minutes for Algeria have been hard to come by for Benrahma, though. He has only made a surprisingly low five appearances for his country at the age of 25.

That will no doubt change fast in the near future if Benrahma starts ripping it up on the Premier League stage with West Ham.

But that does not help Moyes right now, as he deliberates whether to give him the start many West Ham fans are craving at Bramall Lane.
