Rice has come through the ranks at West Ham alongside Holland will know him well. While Rice joined from Chelsea aged 14, Holland moved from Everton aged 18. Since then, he has impressed in the academy team.
The ex-England U19 starlet caught the eye again last night. West Ham were playing in the Premier League International Cup against Valencia B and Holland’s goal separated the two sides in a 1-0 win for the Irons. This impressed Rice after West Ham shared a clip of Holland’s strike.
Nathan Holland to join Declan Rice in the first-team?
West Ham fans have long been calling for Holland to win a first-team promotion. The 21-year-old is doing everything right in the academy team and has already rattled in a handful of goals and assists this season.
With Michail Antonio out injured, Holland might get his chance soon. The silky left-winger offers a direct threat with goals and assists in his game. He has pace to burn and deceptive skill to get around wingers.
His lack of first-team experience will be the only concern but West Ham fans are confident he will float, rather than sink. Rice clearly rated him and the pair could form a devastating future partnership in the Hammers side.
