West Ham are keen on bringing in Eduardo Macia to the club as Head of Recruitment, according to ESPN.
Macia currently works with Leicester City and formerly of Liverpool. The talented scout has been the man behind acquisitions such as James Maddison and Ricardo Pereira respectively.
The Hammers have had Mario Husillos overseeing recruitment duties this summer. The move for Macia won’t have any negative consequences for the current Head of Recruitment. Instead, West Ham chiefs want the pair to work together to help Manuel Pellegrini with future transfers.
There may be a hitch in the deal however as AC Milan are also keen on Macia. The Serie A side are happy to offer a big pay rise to get their man.
West Ham may be in the driving seat however after keeping tabs on Macia since earlier on this year. The Hammers are also understood to be happy to offer a significant pay increase also.
Milan appointed Brazilian Leonardo into the club as Sporting Director in the summer, and it’s he who’s pinpointed the Leicester man as one to go and get.
It remains to be seen how this plays out. However, it would be an interesting development given the transfer window is close in England. The London club must have a view to bringing Macia in to work on players for January.
The former Liverpool recruiter was the man responsible for signing the likes of Fernando Torres and Rahem Sterling to Anfield.
