Hammers boss David Moyes has made a couple of exciting signings for the future but the Scot is still yet to bring an established star to the London Stadium this summer.

The West Ham fans are understandably concerned at the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market so far this summer.

There have been some really bright performances from some of our current stars during pre-season, however.

West Ham United’s 5 standout performers from pre-season

Jamal Baptiste

The 17-year-old has been truly exceptional. He actually looks like a senior pro already.

Baptiste has frightening talent and potential. The teenager certainly looks like he has what it takes to react he very top and he is very highly regarded in East London.

Hopefully he goes on to live up to those expectations.

Another talented young centre-back Moyes has at his disposal, the 20-year-old has been superb during pre-season.

Alese looks like an absolute unit and he already seems to be at the level required to play Premier League football.

Pierre Ekwah Elimby

A new arrival from Chelsea last month, the 19-year-old has already made his mark in East London.

He has displayed impressive physical attributes whilst showcasing his technical ability at the same time. One to keep an eye on over the next 12 months for sure.

Conor Coventry

The 21-year-old seems to have reached another level during pre-season.

That is incredibly handy because West Ham are very light in the middle of the park. Perhaps Coventry and Ekwah Elimby can provide the competition and cover needed for Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice.

Jarrod Bowen

The 24-year-old has established himself as a real fan favourite at the London Stadium since making his £22 million move from Hull City in January 2020 (Guardian).

Bowen has racked up nine goals and 10 assists in 53 games for the Hammers (Transfermarkt). He’s looked incredibly strong, hungry and fit during pre-season, however, and we reckon this upcoming season could be Bowen’s breakout campaign in a West Ham shirt.
