UK diplomat and West Ham United fan Jon Benjamin has poked fan at rivals Tottenham Hotspur after posting a picture with Newcastle United star Christian Atsu.
West Ham supporter Benjamin is the former British Ambassador to Chile and Ghana.
The diplomat has more than 116,000 followers on Twitter and counts West Ham’s Chilean boss Manuel Pellegrini among his friends.

West Ham win as Spurs suffer shock defeat to Magpies
Buoyed by West Ham’s first win of the season, 3-1 away at Watford on Saturday, Benjamin is a happy Hammer.
And when Newcastle beat West Ham’s fierce rivals Tottenham on Sunday, Benjamin could not resist posting a picture with another Premier League star Christian Atsu as he took a jovial dig at Spurs.
Benjamin presumably met Ghanaian star Atsu in his role as the country’s former British Ambassador.

‘Just so Spursy’
Atsu made a superb return to the Newcastle fold with a great performance in the surprise 1-0 win over Tottenham.
“Very well played Christian Atsu for Newcastle and as for Tottenham, well they were just so ….. Spursy,” Benjamin said on Twitter.
The defeat for Tottenham has seen many rivals fans and pundits write off their title hopes.
For Newcastle and West Ham the aims for the season will be slightly lower.
The Hammers are looking to kick on from last season’s 10th place finish and go deep in the domestic cup competitions.

Hammers fan and diplomat counts Pellegrini as a friend
Newcastle will be looking to avoid a relegation battle under the unpopular Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley.
On the evidence of Newcastle’s performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium they certainly have the players to survive.
Back in April Benjamin posted a picture with West Ham manager Pellegrini as he showed him around the Foreign Office.
And a few months before the pair and their wives went out for dinner together in Covent Garden.
Benjamin no doubt picked the brains of his beloved team’s boss on all things West Ham.
