West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta was hooked at half-time of Brazil’s latest rout as Tomas Soucek gets a Czech Republic reprieve.
As the final international break before the 2022 Qatar World Cup comes to a close, West Ham players have been in action for their countries again.
It has been a rather dismal international break for West Ham’s players thus far.
Thilo Kehrer lost his Germany place for their defeat to Hungary but was reinstated for the draw with England and played well.
Emerson not only lost his Italy place but the man who took it was one of the Azzurri’s star players over their two wins against England and Hungary.

Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal were battered 4-0 by Portugal with the former particularly poor again and hauled off despite being captain.
Said Benrahma can’t get a look in with Algeria as a result of his lack of game time with West Ham.
Alphonse Areola was given a big and rare chance with France as a result of injuries to the two goalkeepers ahead of him in the pecking order, Hugo Lloris and Mike Maignan.
But France suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Denmark with West Ham’s number two in goal.
Jarrod Bowen was on the bench for England’s defeat against the Italians but did not play a single minute before then being dropped altogether from the squad for the Germany game
As he has with his club, West Ham skipper Rice looked far from his brilliant best in England’s defeat to Italy.
Rice was much improved in the draw with Germany, though. Although the national press were critical of the West Ham star, saying he was overrun by Ilkay Gundogan and Jamal Musiala.
West Ham star Lucas Paqueta hooked at half-time of Brazil rout as Tomas Soucek gets Czech Republic reprieve
The only real bright spark so far has been Paqueta with Brazil. He put in a brilliant performance in a deeper midfield role in Brazil’s 3-0 win over Ghana.
But even Paqueta’s international break has ended on something of a sour note on a personal level.
Because West Ham star Paqueta was hooked at half-time of another Brazil rout as Soucek gets a Czech Republic reprieve.
Paqueta was played as the wide-left forward for Brazil in their comfortable win over Tunisia.
The Hammers’ record signing twice went close to scoring and as Brazil went in at half-time with a 4-1 lead thanks to goals from Richarlison, Neymar and a Raphinha brace. Second half sub Pedro has since made it 5-1.
Paqueta almost set Tunisia up for a counter attack goal when his sloppy pass gifted the North Africans the chance to break.
He worked hard for the team but was substituted at half-time by coach Tite with his best friend Viniscus Junior replacing him.
David Moyes may be relieved as he will get his new man back injury free for the big game against Wolves on Saturday.

After a woeful performance against Portugal for which he was slated by the Czech press, Soucek was given a reprieve and started their match against Switzerland.
Soucek’s West Ham teammate Vladimir Coufal also started the match, which sees the Czech’s trail 2-1.
And Soucek’s nightmare form continues after the West Ham man missed a penalty in the second half
Hammers striker Michail Antonio is the last player in action during this international break as he faces Argentina in New York overnight.
