West Ham seem to have a real problem at left-back.
Neither Aaron Cresswell nor Arthur Masuaku have been consistent enough over the past two seasons.
And both players have experienced injury and discipline problems.
With this in mind, the Hammers should surely be targeting the signing of an experienced left-back in January.
And a useful option for them could be Paris Saint-Germain ace Layvin Kurzawa.
He’s three reasons why West Ham should move for the Frenchman…
Quality on the ball
Kurzawa possesses exceptional technique. This will come in handy as Pellegrini likes his team to play out and build play from the back.
He is well-versed in receiving the football in tight spaces, and that will serve him well, if he is introduced to the intense nature of the Premier League.
Attack-minded full-back
The 12-capped France international is extremely attack-minded. And he would link up brilliantly with Felipe Anderson down West Ham’s left-hand flank.
Kurzawa’s final delivery is brilliant as well. And despite the fact that he’s a defender, he would really help add a certain level of potency to the Hammers’ attacking play.
Winning mentality
The PSG ace has won plenty during his time in football.
Kurzawa has won three league titles in France, as well as six domestic cups. Despite West Ham’s array of talent, they do seem to lack any kind of genuine winners.
And the Frenchman would help address that issue.
The 27-year-old’s deal with PSG is up in the summer of 2020. So the Hammers might just be able to strike a bargain deal for the left-back in January.
And if Pellegrini does manage to bring Kurzawa to the London Stadium, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for West Ham.
