West Ham owners have made it very clear what they want Mark Noble to do first when he takes up Sporting Director role.

There 35-year-old returned as a player for West Ham at the end of last season.

He didn’t wait long to get back involved with the Hammers, however.

Mark Noble will take up his role as West Ham’s new Sporting Director in January. The jury is still out whether he’ll be a success in the job – he is incredibly inexperienced in that particular field after all.

Richard Keys recently sent his support to Noble, however, claiming that the Hammers have made a great appointment.

Time will tell whether Noble is a hit as Sporting Director at the London Stadium. What is for sure though is that his task has been made very clear by the owners…

Mark Noble has important first job as Sporting Director

Dean Jones has been speaking to Give Me Sport about Noble’s recent appointment as West Ham’s new Sporting Director.

The football journalist outlined how the 35-year-old has one very important job to do when he gets handed the reigns in January:

Part of Mark Noble’s job is to make sure that they’re left in no doubt about what it means to play for West Ham. Then beyond that, he can start to build out his role as a sporting director.

Noble clearly has an important role to play before getting down to the nitty gritty of being the club’s Sporting Director.

West Ham are a club in crisis at the moment, and we are embroiled in a relegation battle, just seven games into the new Premier League season!

David Moyes needs to turn things around on the pitch, and fast.

It seems as though Mark Noble will have a sizeable task on his hands as well, when he takes up his role as the Hammers’ Sporting Director in three month’s time.
