West Ham must sign Brighton star Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window, after his agent says Roberto De Zerbi has humiliated him.

Hammers boss David Moyes allegedly wanted to bring the Brighton ace to the London Stadium in January 2022.

He ended up staying with the south coast outfit though, and has since gone on to become one of the very best attackers in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old winger has been on fire for Brighton in the Premier League this season, with seven goals and three assists to his name in 16 games so far (Transfermarkt). He scored against us at the London Stadium earlier this season as well.

It appears as though his days with the Seagulls could be numbered though, and West Ham must swoop in and take advantage of his current situation…

Leandro Trossard agent speaks out after ‘humiliation’

The Belgium International has been dropped for Brighton’s clash with Liverpool this afternoon.

And as a result, Trossard’s agent has spoken out, suggesting that a January transfer away from the Seagulls would be the best solution for his client.

As quoted by the Guardian, the Brighton star’s agent Josy Comhair released a statement saying:

In the run-up to the match against Middlesbrough, Leandro had already indicated twice that he had problems with his calf. This was the reason why he stopped training. This was, incidentally, in consultation with the medical staff. The manager told Leandro that he had to train separately. Last Monday, the manager [De Zerbi] humiliated Leandro in [the] group and indicated that he no longer wanted to see him. A manager who has not communicated directly with his player for four weeks is really incomprehensible. It is also the manager who has indicated several times that a transfer is the most convenient solution. It is therefore important that Brighton cooperates with a potential transfer during this transfer period and shows a benevolent attitude, which is beneficial to both parties. After the World Cup there was an altercation between Leandro and a player in training over a trivial matter. Since then the manager no longer speaks to Leandro, which is obviously not conducive to the atmosphere, nor is it performance-oriented.

After hearing that, David Moyes surely has to act.

The Scot desperately needs to bring a new winger to the London Stadium, and with our current problems in the final third, Trossard would be the perfect addition.

The Brighton star has technical ability in abundance and has the kind of creativity, guile and goalscoring touch that we have desperately lacked this season.

After the agent of Leandro Trossard spoke out yesterday, Moyes must not hesitate to bring him to West Ham. He could cost up to £40 million according to SI.

However, after the current situation with De Zerbi and with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, surely Brighton will have to accept less than that.
