If you don’t know that West Ham United want to sign Maxi Gomez you must have been living under a rock for the last six months.
West Ham were first linked with the powerful Celta Vigo forward back in January.
Nothing came of Manuel Pellegrini’s interest then.

West Ham focused on striker hunt
And as yet nothing has come of it in the first two months of the summer window either.
West Ham need a striker and Pellegrini has a list of targets.
One thing is for certain, 22-year-old Gomez is at the top of that list.
There has been claim and counter claim over the deal and there will undoubtedly be many twists and turns yet.

Sky Sports make Gomez deal claim
The latest on the Sky Sports News transfer round-up is that West Ham are waiting to thrash out personal terms with Gomez having had a £29million bid accepted by Celta Vigo.
Sky Sports previously reported the same line 10 days ago.
But reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee took to Twitter to deliver his verdict on the repeated claim.
“Not true and not close at moment,” ExWHUemployee said in response to a fan citing the Sky Sports report.
The Twitter and radio personality went on to explain why the Gomez interest is becoming something of a saga.
He added: “Negotiations are tricky due to a number of factors. Celta’s valuation is the key one, Gomez’s preferences another. I feel this could drag and drag and we may need to see a cut off point.”

Hammers face tussle with Valencia
Gomez has scored 30 goals in his first two seasons in European football with Celta.
That has allegedly alerted some top clubs such as Barcelona and Liverpool.
But it seems West Ham face a head-to-head battle with Valencia for the Uruguayan’s signature.
