A national newspaper reported that Burnley boss Sean Dyche wants to replace Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United.
On Sunday The Guardian claimed Dyche would be interested in speaking to West Ham should they decide to axe Pellegrini.
The Hammers boss is coming under increasing pressure.
The East Londoners have now gone eight games without a win stretching back over two months.
Dyche ‘wants’ West Ham job
A pathetic display against bitter rivals Tottenham last time out saw West Ham go 3-0 down before the hour mark for the third consecutive game.
A late rally saw the score end 3-2 but it was all too little too late.
The anger and frustration among fans has started to turn to apathy.
And that is usually when owners of clubs get twitchy.
The Guardian’s claims that Dyche has put himself forward for the West Ham job received a mixed reception from Hammers fans on social media.
Insider claims speculation is true
Now the speculation has been given more credibility among supporters after comments from reliable insider ExWHUemployee.
“Yes he apparently approached us,” ExWHUemployee said when asked whether The Guardian’s Dyche claim was true.
“There are ways to get your interest know(n) without doing it directly.”
A host of social media polls suggest the number one choice amongst fans, should Pellegrini be sacked, is Eddie Howe.
Fans prefer Howe
Some West Ham fans are sceptical about Dyche, despite the brilliant job he has done with Burnley.
The likes of Rafa Benitez have also been linked with replacing Pellegrini.
And from that point of view many fans would prefer to see the Hammers go for a young English manager like Howe or Dyche.
