West Ham United finally look to be getting the rub of the green after this week’s Carabao Cup third round draw.
At the start of each season the only two trophies West Ham have any realistic hope of winning are the two domestic cup competitions.
The Hammers last lifted a major trophy when they won the FA Cup back in 1980.
It has been slim pickings since besides THAT Intertoto Cup triumph.
West Ham always seem to be handed tough cup draws.
And of course to win any competition you will have to beat top teams along the way.
Well everyone except Arsenal.

Luck of the draw changing?
Could West Ham be finally getting the rub of the green with the cup draw.
AFC Wimbledon put up a good fight but the League One side were one of the easier picks in the draw for the second round.
West Ham eventually overcame a 1-0 deficit to win that one 3-1.
Next out of the hat was Macclesfield at home.
The League Two side are the lowest placed team left in the competition which should see the Hammers progress to the fourth round, three ties away from a Wembley final.
Fourteen other Premier League teams remain.
But four all-Premier League ties mean four of those will not make it to the fourth round.

Fourth round beckons, three steps from Wembley
By that stage West Ham should be fully submerged into Manuel Pellegrini’s style of play after encouraging signs of late.
Should the Hammers overcome Macclesfield they may well fancy their chances against anyone by the end of October.
Another favourable draw could see the East Londoners set up for a serious tilt at a trophy Pellegrini knows well after winning it with Manchester City.
West Ham finally seem to be getting some cup draw luck.
Could Pellegrini be the man to end 38 years of hurt?
