Manuel Pellegrini has been sacked following West Ham United’s 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City.
Pellegrini has been under intense pressure after West Ham’s nosedive from third to the brink of the relegation zone over the last three months.
West Ham have won just twice in 14 matches during that time.
And they were only kept out of the relegation zone by Watford’s win over Aston Villa.

Pellegrini pays the price
Hammers supporters have been calling for change. And they got it on Saturday night when the decision was announced on the club’s official website.
But they hold co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold equally culpable for the way they have run the club and a paltry £25million net spend in the last two transfer windows.
A large section of West Ham fans want the owners to sell up.
And many of them were less than impressed by a claim in the wake of Pellegrini’s sacking that Sullivan and Gold sent vice-chairman Karren Brady to do their dirty work.

‘Vice-chairman Brady was sent to sack Pellegrini’
West Ham fan site Knees Up Mother Brown posted on Twitter after the game making the claim.
“More on tonight’s sacking,” KUMB reported on Twitter.
“It appears the club coach left the ground without any players or Pellegrini on board (as is usually the case).
“The squad were kept behind to be informed of the manager’s dismissal. Pellegrini was fired by Karren Brady immediately after the game.”
Angry fans responded in great numbers, labelling the owners ‘cowardly’ for their conduct.
Here are a selection of responses to the claim.

‘Cowards’
‘Brady is their private puppet’
