West Ham were poor as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Everton, once again missing the chance to jump into seventh place.
After Wolves and Watford dropped points earlier in the day, West Ham had a golden opportunity to leapfrog them as they hosted Everton.
But the Hammers dropped into the bottom half of the table after goals from Kurt Zouma and Bernard sealed a 2-0 win for the visitors.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
After the game, the vast majority of West Ham’s team was slated by fans, although Angelo Ogbonna was singled out for praise.
His central defensive partner Issa Diop struggled but Ogbonna ensured that it was only two goals conceded.
It was also a landmark occasion for the Italy international, who made his 100th Premier League appearance for the Irons.
After the game, Ogbonna posted a tweet to acknowledge his landmark, describing how he was “proud” to have achieved this at West Ham.
Despite the defeat. Proud to have reach 💯 appearance in #premierleague with the same club @westham and share it with all you#100AO #WHUEVE #COYI ⚒ #AO21 pic.twitter.com/FGSihjen1l

The 30-year-old also conceded that the result was not as he had hoped but West Ham fans did not blame him.
Ogbonna has been criticised in the past but here is a selection of tweets from West Ham fans jumping to his defence after the Everton loss.
Well done recently mate, you’ve hit top form as of late

Had a good game today, made some key challenges near the start where it looked like it was going to get embarrassing x

Well played today Angelo. If weren’t for you it could have been 6-0

Played well today along with Fabianski and Rice. Everyone else was poor!

Well played mate. You get a lot of unfair criticism IMO. A great servant for the club.

You were great today, could have been a lot worse if you were not on the pitch.
