The youngster struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, however. He made just two senior appearances for the club. And failed to register either a goal or an assist.

In fact, Hammers insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that Bilic didn’t even know who Haksabanovic was when he was brought to east london.

The Montenegro international has enjoyed a successful spell on loan with IFK Norrkoping this season, however.

He racked up nine goals and eight assists in 36 outings (Transfermarkt).

Expressen claimed that Haksabanovic was close to leaving the Hammers for Djurgarden five months ago. But that move obviously failed to materialise for the 21-year-old.

But now the midfielder has left West Ham permanently, linking up with IFK Norrkoping for an undisclosed fee.

And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the confirmed news…
