West Ham slipped down the Premier League table after a disappointing afternoon in Merseyside.

Everton beat West Ham 2-0, giving Marco Silva and the club a much-needed three points. West Ham were not able to gear themselves up for the game and were lacklustre throughout.

There were a number of underwhelming individual performances. But quite a lot of fans have taken to Twitter to criticise summer signing Roberto – who played in goal yesterday.

The Spanish goalkeeper has failed to convince West Ham fans that he is good enough so far and that continued. Everton’s first goal was avoidable if Roberto had been in a better position.

Admittedly, the defending was weak leading up to Bernard’s chance. But Roberto rushed towards him, exposing a gap at the near post which Bernard poked the ball into.

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late goal to seal all three points was not Roberto’s fault but it added further woe for him and the team. The following West Ham fans are worried about having Roberto as the first-choice stopper with Lukasz Fabianski out until the end of 2019 at the earliest.
