West Ham fans react to 'pathetic' shirt number announcement on Twitter

West Ham officially announced yesterday that Pablo Fornals has been given the number 8 shirt recently vacated by Felipe Anderson.

Some Hammers fans aren’t best pleased, however.

When taken as a standalone issue, Fornals being handed the number 8 shirt is great news. He deserves it and will certainly do it more justice than Felipe Anderson ever did.

David Moyes is still yet to bring an established senior player to the London Stadium this summer.

And with our rivals strengthening left right and centre, there is a real danger that we are not only standing still but actually moving backwards.

There is still around four weeks to go before the new Premier League season begins.

So it’s not quite panic stations just yet. It is slowing inching towards that point, however.
