Joseph Anang has signed a new deal with West Ham until the summer of 2024 (WHUFC.com). And some Hammers fans have reacted to the news on Twitter.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is highly rated at the London Stadium.
And the new contract is evidence of that.
Anang has kept 13 clean sheets in 49 combined games for the Hammers’ under-18’s and under-23’s.
The 20-year-old will be looking at the next few years as his chance to force his way into David Moyes’s plans.
Current number one Lukasz Fabianski will be 36 in April whilst number two Darren Randolph will be 34 in May.
West Ham have Nathan Trott and Krisztian Hegyi coming through the ranks as well. So our future in the goalkeeping department looks bright.
The Hammers confirmed yesterday that Anang has signed a new deal with the club – one that runs until the summer of 2024.
Perhaps he will be sent out on loan somewhere in January or next summer. The opportunity to play regular senior football in the Championship or League One will undoubtedly aid his development.
