According to a report from the Express, West Ham boss David Moyes is targeting a bold move for free agent Mario Gotze. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
First and foremost, Moyes must surely be looking to bolster his defensive ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
A new left-back and a centre-back are required if we are to push on for a top 10 finish next term.
And if we manage to do that, perhaps then we should be looking to sign an out-and-out centre-forward.
So with that in mind, West Ham signing Gotze would surely make no sense whatsoever.
Moyes has also repeatedly stated that he wants to bring young and hungry players to the Hammers this summer.
Gotze is 28, has nothing to prove an is extremely injury prone. The German World Cup winner just doesn’t fit the profile of player Moyes wants to bring to West Ham.
So if he is signed, it will be a clear indication that David Sullivan and David Gold have intervened and overruled the West Ham boss.
And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter to vent their anger after hearing that Gotze could be brought to the London Stadium this summer…
Really??? Staying up with minimal outlay rings deafening in my ears.

Classic GSB this. Injury prone, overrated, no resale value, massive wages, no transfer fee and in a position we are already well stocked. Will probably sell Fornals to fund. Moyes plan to bring in young, hungry players from the championship already up in smoke

We always get injured players??!! Why?! So we can pay them ££££’s to sit on the side watching??! Joke
