According to a report from the Daily Star, West Ham are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah this summer. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
David Moyes’s need to strengthen his central defensive ranks is clear for everyone to see.
The Scot could also do with a new right-back after Ryan Fredericks sustained a serious injury against Wolves on Sunday.
And the Daily Star reckon that Leverkusen ace Jonathan Tah could be an option for West Ham.
The 10-capped Germany international’s ability to play at right-back as well as centre-back will surely prove appealing to the Hammers.
He really does have everything we need, what with his pace, power and aerial dominance.
Stats
Tah made 25 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen last season. In those outings, the 24-year-old averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 3.8 clearances and 0.5 blockers per game. He also won an average of 2.9 aerial duals per match during that period of games (Who Scored).
The 24-year-old is World Cup winner. And that kind of winning experience would serve West Ham well.
The Leverkusen ace is incredibly experienced despite his relatively tender years. The problem is that Leverkusen value Tah at around £33 million (Bild).
That may prove to be a tad too much for West Ham to slash out on one player this summer.
Some Hammers fans seem to be very excited at the prospect of Moyes bringing Tah to the London Stadium nevertheless…
