West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has named two players who he believes can be key players this season. Speaking to whufc.com, Pellegrini revealed how Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko can play major roles this term.
Both players were ruled out for much of last season. But while Yarmolenko showed some exciting form before his injury, Sanchez has been poor throughout his time in East London.
“They are two important players,” Pellegrini told whufc.com. “Carlos is the only replacement we have for Declan Rice and he is working very hard to recover his performance that he had before his injury.”
Sanchez has played a role in pre-season but his performances have been a cause for concern. The Colombian midfielder should have been replaced in the summer but Pellegrini opted against signing a new holding midfielder.
