West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini could sign a new deal shortly. According to Claret & Hugh, progress has been made in contract negotiations with Lanzini and he could sign a new long-term deal within the next fortnight.

Lanzini has been stalling over signing a new deal with West Ham for a while. His current contract expires next summer but there is no particular rush to extend this because there is the option to add two years to his deal.

However, West Ham want to reward Lanzini with a new and improved contract instead. It seems that there has finally been some movement and the 26-year-old is leaning towards putting pen-to-paper.

The Hammers plan to give Lanzini a new contract worth more than double the current £35k-per-week package he earns. The Argentina international, who was recently recalled to the national squad, has proven his worth to Manuel Pellegrini.

After scoring three times in pre-season, Lanzini produced the moment of magic against Brighton. He set up Javier Hernandez’s goal in the 1-1 draw and could sign a new deal soon. Here are some reactions from West Ham fans.
