Jordan Hugill followed Modibo Maiga in scoring on his debut after joining Queens Park Rangers on loan from West Ham. Hugill took just eight minutes to open his account for his new club.

The 27-year-old showed his striker’s instinct to put QPR 1-0 up against Stoke City. In the away clash with Stoke, QPR earned an impressive 2-1 win and Hugill played his part.

With less than 10 minutes on the clock, QPR were ahead. Jack Butland misjudged a ball outside of his box and winger Bright Osayi-Samuel got their first to send a cross into the box. Hugill was in the right place at the right time to beat his marker to the ball and tap into an empty net.

This is Hugill’s second loan spell away from West Ham since his January 2018 move. He joined from Preston North End but only managed three substitute appearances, racking up less than 30 minutes of game time for the Hammers.

Unable to offload him permanently, West Ham settled for another loan spell. And Hugill is already enjoying life in West London as a QPR player. Here are some tweets from West Ham fans reacting to his debut goal.
