Jarrod Bowen made a quite simply brilliant home debut for West Ham against Southampton yesterday. And some Hammers took to Twitter in reaction to his display.

The 23-year-old joined the east London outfit from Hull City on transfer deadline day for around £22 million (The Guardian).

He had to make do with two cameo appearances from the bench against Manchester City and Liverpool, however.

Bowen played from the start for the Hammers against the Saints yesterday, however, and he really impressed. The former Hull man scored West Ham’s opener with a neat finish inside 15 minutes.

He was a constant menace down the right hand flank, and his work-rate was exceptional.

Bowen racked up 16 goals and seven assists in 29 Championship games for Hull this season (Who Scored). And if he can replicate that kind of form for the Hammers, they will be just fine this season.

The 23-year-old has already proven that he can make a massive difference for West Ham. And he seems like he will be a real fan favourite at the London Stadium.
