West Ham were beaten comfortably by Liverpool in the Premier League last night.
The Reds are far superior to the Hammers, and in truth, the result was never in doubt.
West Ham actually weren’t that bad, however. They showed glimpses of decent play against arguably the best side on the planet at the moment.
David Moyes’s men looked well organised on the most part, and it was only a reckless challenge from Issa Diop and Mo Salah’s subsequent converted penalty in the first-half that meant Liverpool led at the break.
There was one real bright spark for the Hammers too.
Jeremy Ngakia made his first team debut for West Ham. And the 19-year-old proved that he has what it takes to play at the very highest level.
The teenager looked rough around the edges, but he showed real intent going forward and was solid defensively.
He seems to have all the makings of a very exciting prospect for the future. He was thrown in at the deep end tonight, and he certainly didn’t let anyone down.
