Angelo Ogbonna was left on the bench again as West Ham crumbled at Burnley.
The Hammers were beaten 3-0 by a struggling Burnley side to compile the recent misery. It has been a pathetic run of form and this result plunged West Ham to new lows.
West Ham have been leaking goals recently and this is a combination of problems. Roberto has been woeful between the sticks but the defence has also been blameworthy.
Recently, Manuel Pellegrini decided to drop his most in-form defender, Ogbonna, to bring Fabian Balbuena back. At the time, this was a decision that shocked West Ham fans. And it continues to bemuse the fanbase as West Ham struggle.
Balbuena has been out of sorts this season, struggling from a lack of playing time. Issa Diop and Ogbonna struck a solid partnership at the start of the season but this has been abandoned in the past few games.
Here are some West Ham fans on Twitter discussing Pellegrini’s decision to snub Ogbonna once again.
What I don’t understand is diop and ogbonna struck up a good partnership at CB then balbuena comes back he changes it, masuaku gets banned and has disappeared completely from the first team, yarmelenko is firing on all cylinders for club and country and then gets dropped

Balbuena had a shocker. Still have no clue why Ogbonna was dropped for him. Believe it or not Roberto kept the score down, still doesn’t make up for his errors though.

Balbuena has been awful this season. BRING BACK OGBONNA (can’t believe I’m saying that)

First thing is that Ogbonna needs his place back. Our best defender this year but dropped as MP felt sorry for Balbuena. You couldn’t even make it up

Balbuena and Roberto HAVE to be dropped. David Martin can’t be worse and ogbonna was playing so well before he got dropped for no reason
