Some West Ham fans were unhappy with the performance of Lukasz Fabianski away at Newcastle today. And many of the Hammers faithful are wondering what on earth has happened to the Polish stopper.
Gary Neville spotted something awful West Ham ace did that will really disappoint Moyes
The 35-year-old moved to the London Stadium from Swansea City in the summer of 2018 for around £7 million (BBC).
And Fabianski really impressed for the Hammers last season. in fact, he made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League (premierleague.com).
The former Arsenal and Swansea man, who earns £65,000 per week (Spotrac), has suffered two separate injuries this season, however. And since returning from his last spell on the sidelines, he hasn’t been the same player.
Fabianski was very shaky for West Ham today, as he has been since Premier League football resumed three weeks ago.
The 52-capped Poland international doesn’t seem to be playing with the same authority and conviction as he did last season. The 35-year-old has been flapping at crosses rather than catching them and he is clearly not the trustworthy figure that he once was.
Who knows, perhaps Fabianski needs more games before he gets back to his old self. He was out for quite some time after all.
The experienced goalkeeper can probably go on playing for another two or three years in the Premier League. Let’s just hope he finds his best form sooner rather than later.
Some West Ham fans are bemused about the Pole’s fall from grace and reacted to his display against Newcastle this afternoon…
