Manuel Pellegrini left Albian Ajeti on the bench once again as West Ham lost at home to Crystal Palace. The Hammers’ unbeaten run in the league came to an end with a disappointed 2-1 loss at the hands of Palace.
Sebastien Haller scored West Ham’s goal but many fans thought he should have been given a strike partner towards the end of the game. With the game poised at 1-1, it was there for the taking. But Pellegrini snubbed Ajeti again.
For the seventh successive Premier League match, the Switzerland international was an unused substitute. He was a late summer signing but he has only played twice for the Irons since joining from FC Basel.
Both of those appearances came in the EFL Cup and he is yet to impress in claret and blue. But yesterday was perhaps the ideal chance to give him a run-out. Pellegrini, however, was not interested in using Ajeti.
West Ham fans flocked to Twitter to discuss this situation. It seems strange that Javier Hernandez was sold, in hindsight, if Pellegrini does not trust Ajeti. Here are some tweets reacting to this decision.
Mad how we took off a goalscorer for Yarmo yet kept a striker sat on the bench. Selling Hernandez was yet another ludicrous transfer decision because Pellegrini clearly doesn’t seem to trust Ajeti

What’s the inside view of ajeti, panic buy and Pellegrini just doesn’t rate
Should have been chucked on with fifteen to go instead of fornals

Pellegrini would rather bring on two midfielders and a defender over Ajeti but you man think we did well getting rid of Chicharito

I was suprised Ajeti didn’t come on with 15 -20 mins to go with the game there to be won. Doesn’t look good for his chances of getting much game time.

Also – what is the purpose of getting Ajeti?

why even have Ajeti on the bench if you’re not going to chase this game?
