The 18-year-old has now signed his first professional terms at the London Stadium (WHUFC.com).

Laing is an all round defender. He can operate at both centre-back and right-back.

The West Ham youngster can even fill in at defensive midfield if needed.

Laing has been on trial with the Hammers since January and he has already made some waves in East London.

He has been described as an uncompromising defender with good athleticism and technical ability by the Hammers’ official website.

West Ham fans buzzing after Levi Laing announcement

It’s obviously too early for the 18-year-old to be involved with the first-team.

If he continues to improve and develop physically, however, he seems to have all of the attributes needed to succeed at the very highest level.

Let’s just be patient with the teenager, however, and give him the time he needs to flourish at the London Stadium.
