West Ham United could still bring in more players despite the transfer window being shut according to co-owner David Gold. West Ham appointed Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.

The Chilean was backed with unprecedented spending to the tune of £100 million on 10 new signings.
Two of those were free agents in Jack Wilshere and Ryan Fredericks.
It has showed on the pitch too with West Ham struggling to gel so far.
The Hammers look particularly light in central midfield.

Gold clarifies transfer situation
Pellegrini sold Cheikhou Kouyate to Crystal Palace and brought in Aston Villa flop Carlos Sanchez on deadline day.
The East Londoners were also linked with the likes of free agent Yaya Toure (Daily Star).
Any hopes the experienced Ivorian or any other free agents could be added to the squad seemed to end with the close of the transfer window, though.
Or at least that was a common misconception of new transfer window rules among football fans this season.

Will poor start change Pellegrini’s mind?
However, West Ham co-owner David Gold has confirmed the club CAN still sign out of contract players.
Taking to Twitter Gold said: “Any club can sign a free agent at any time.”
That could open the door for a number of potential arrivals with Toure still out of contract.
It remains to be seen whether Pellegrini wants to make any further additions, though, after telling the press ‘my squad is complete’ (talkSPORT).
Perhaps back-to-back defeats to start the season might change his thinking.
