According to a report from Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, alleged West Ham and Everton target Diogo Dalot is set to leave Manchester United this summer.
In other news…’So stupid’: Some West Ham fans erupt with anger as Moyes allegedly could sell 23-y/o
ExWHUemployee claimed last month that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 21-year-old Red Devils ace to the London Stadium.
And O Jogo reckon that Toffees chief Carlo Ancelotti is also keen to bring him to Goodison Park this summer.
The Portuguese media outlet claims that Dalot is one of several Manchester United players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants gone from Old Trafford this summer in order to raise funds to embark on a £150 million spending spree.
And considering West Ham’s need for a new right-back, Dalot would be the ideal addition for us.
Beating Everton to his signature, however, will obviously be somewhat problematic.
Stats
United brought the 21-year-old to Old Trafford from Porto in the summer of 2018 for around £20 million (O Jogo).
The Portuguese right-back, who can also operate at left-back, has struggled to impress for Manchester United, however, with just 34 appearances to his name in the last two years.
Dalot played just four Premier League games last season, and he has fallen out of favour with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former Porto man maybe just needs more regular first-team action in order to establish himself. And perhaps he would get that at either West Ham or Everton.
Whether the Hammers will be able to compete financially with the Toffees at the moment, however, is highly unlikely.
So Moyes must expedite the process of ridding West Ham of some of their under-performing, big name stars.
And if the Scot manages to do that, he may well be able to beat his former club to Dalot’s signature.
