Darren Randolph absolutely raved about his West Ham teammate Tomas Soucek, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website.

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers on loan in January of this year.

He made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one for around £19 million in July (Football.London).

And Soucek has proven to be an absolutely brilliant signing for West Ham.

The 28-capped Czech Republic international has already established himself as one of David Moyes’s most important players at the London Stadium. His athleticism. and energy has added so much to the Hammers’ play through the middle of the park.

Soucek has scored four goals in 21 games for West Ham (Transfermarkt). He is an absolute nuisance for opposing teams from set pieces. And the £19 million that we paid for him now seems like a real bargain.

Darren Randolph raved about the 25-year-old, when speaking to WHUFC.com, labelling his teammate as a machine:

“Tomas Soucek himself alone can cover 13 or 14km in a game and I’ve never played with someone who covers that much distance in a game, ever. We then come in for a warm down the next day and he goes and does another 5 or 6km around the training ground. He’s a machine! To have those numbers and match that with the quality and ability is unusual, because you normally have one or the other – quality but no running or a runner who is not very good – but Tomas does both!”

Randolph is spot on. The Czech ace really is an all action midfielder, and he has the quality to back it up.

The goalkeeper’s statement about Soucek’s running ability really is a rather bold one, considering how many good players he has played alongside throughout his career to date.

The former Slavia Prague ace will be a vital player for West Ham this season. If the 25-year-old can play to his full potential between now and the end of the season, there is no reason why we can’t challenge for a top eight finish.
