Video: West Ham fans will be seriously excited by 21-year-old’s blistering pace vs Ipswich

West Ham played Ipswich in a friendly at Portman Road last night and talented youngster Aji Alese stood out once again.

The Hammers won the match 2-1 with plenty of youngsters being handed a chance by David Moyes.

Aji Alese is one of the standout youth players to have come through the ranks at the London Stadium over the past few years.

Mk Dons, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City all allegedly want to sign Alese on loan this summer.

He is 21 now, so regular first-team football will be a necessity for the London-born centre-ace, if he is to progress on to another level once again.

Moyes may well decide to keep him at West Ham this season though. His performance against Ipswich Town last night was certainly evidence that he’s ready to play senior football…

Alese on fire for West Ham against Ipswich

The 21-year-old put in a calm, assured display at the heart of the Hammers’ defence last night.

The East London-born centre-back was head and shoulders above most players for West Ham at under-23 level last season.

Alese is incredibly strong in the air yet he is very quick along the ground as well.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Alese cuts a really imposing figure. The 21-year-old hasn’t put a foot wrong at youth level for West Ham and this season could be a huge one for him as he looks to make a step up to the next level at the London Stadium.

The challenge for him now will be to replicate the form that he showed for the under-23s with the first-team.

He showed last night what he is capable of during the West Ham vs Ipswich Town friendly clash.

Alese displayed absolutely blistering pace to prevent an almost certain goal for the Tractor Boys (19 seconds into the clip):

That is some seriously exciting footage.

Alese is absolutely rapid, and that will stand him in great stead in the future.

Hopefully the 21-year-old is given his big chance by David Moyes this season.

He proved for West Ham against Ipswich last night that he is more than ready.
