West Ham return for pre-season training

West Ham players who have been involved in internationals this summer have been given extra time off.

That meant there was no Declan Rice, Marko Arnautovic, Lukasz Fabianski, Fabian Balbuena, Arthur Masuaku and new boy Pablo Fornals.

What it did make for was some rarely seen pictures.

Forgotten men like Winston Reid, Jordan Hugill and Sam Byram mixing with the first team and new signings David Martin and Roberto.

Outcasts and new stars mix

Enigma Reece Oxford was welcomed back into the fold by West Ham captain Mark Noble. Linked away Issa Diop was back too.

Duo Andriy Yarmolenko and Carlos Sanchez, who spent most of last season out with injury, were back in the mix.

And the likes of Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini, Jack Wilshere, Michail Antonio and Robert Snodgrass were all smiles as they returned to West Ham’s training base.

Here are a selection of pictures from behind the scenes at West Ham’s first day back.
