According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are attempting to swoop in and beat West Ham to the signing of Sporting Lisbon winger Jovane Cabral.
In other news…Report: West Ham player has really impressed Moyes and is in line for key role
Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
And despite the fact that strengthening the attacking department will certainly not be the Scot’s priority, A Bola claimed last week that he is after Sporting Lisbon ace Jovane Cabral.
It seems as though West Ham could be beaten to the punch by Tottenham, however, with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho allegedly keen to bring the 22-year-old winger to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Football Insider).
Cabral has a lot of talent. A Bola reckon he could be up for grabs for just £18 million this summer. And that would represent decent value for either West Ham or Tottenham.
Stats
The 22-year-old racked up six goals and three assists in 16 Primeira Liga games for Sporting this season (Transfermarkt).
In those 16 outings, the Cape Verde international averaged 2.9 shots, 1.3 key passes and 2.3 dribbles per game (Who Scored).
The Sporting ace has plenty of skill and he is pacy and direct in his playing style.
Cabral is at the right kind of age to make the jump up from the Primeira Liga to the Premier League.
West Ham currently have no money, however. So it is highly unlikely that we will be signing him this summer. And Tottenham winning the race for the winger’s signature will just add salt to the Hammers’ wounds.
