West Ham United star Tomas Soucek says fans will now see new signing Vladimir Coufal fully unleashed starting against Fulham.

Lawro sends stark warning to Fulham about West Ham

Coufal was signed for around £5million from Slavia Prague where he played alongside his fellow Czech Republic international Soucek.

And the right-back has looked a bargain so far.

It has been a baptism of fire for Coufal.

Coufal’s baptism of fire

Facing the very best wingers and forwards the Premier League has to offer.

He went straight into the side just two days after signing to face the likes of Jamie Vardy in a 3-0 win at Leicester.

He then got two assists in draws with Tottenham and Manchester City before being part of another solid defensive display for the most part in a harsh defeat at Liverpool.

Now West Ham face – on paper at least – an easier run of fixtures, starting with Fulham on Saturday night.

The Hammers are known for turning up against the big sides but flopping against teams they are expected to beat.

Soucek backs big pal Coufal to be fully unleashed

But Soucek says Coufal will bring a new dimension to his game and the team now the shackles are off (whufc.com).

“I am very happy that he’s settled into this team, in this squad, with us at the training ground and at the stadium,” Soucek told whufc.com.

“I am very happy with how he’s played these four or five matches, because he’s had some hard opponents.

“Now, again, he can show more offensively. He’s going up and down on the pitch and I believe he will show us more and more…

“I know how professional he is. It is good and he is typical for England. When I heard about him coming to West Ham, I knew immediately that the people would love him.”

Can he succeed where Fredericks has failed?

Love him they do. Coufal’s infectious enthusiasm and workrate instantly endeared him to Hammers fans.

After his debut, Declan Rice described Coufal as a ‘warrior’.

Back at Slavia, Coufal was known for his rampaging runs down the right hand side.

That will be crucial to West Ham’s success against lesser sides who will be sitting back – as David Moyes has set his team up to do in recent times.

It is also something Ryan Fredericks has failed to do consistently to any effect during his time at West Ham.

Is Moyes putting Red Bull plan in motion or is Sullivan playing West Ham ‘lottery’ again
