West Ham and Aston Villa played out a 0-0 draw at Villa Park on Monday night. West Ham missed the opportunity to go third but rose to eighth in the table after the stalemate in Birmingham.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, crept out of the relegation zone but will be disappointed. West Ham ended the game with 10 men as Arthur Masuaku was shown two yellow cards by Mike Dean. But neither side could break the deadlock.
