West Ham’s U21 side came from behind to seal an unlikely win in the EFL Trophy. Newport County led 4-1 against the young Hammers but the game was turned on its head with a late flurry seeing West Ham win 5-4.

Anthony Scully gave West Ham an early lead against Newport at Rodney Parade – eight days after the first-team won 2-0 in the EFL Cup there. But the League Two side asserted their dominance with four unanswered goals.

West Ham’s resilience was put to the test and they responded in superb fashion. Joe Powell’s penalty brought West Ham back in it before Veron Parkes made it 4-3. Kai Corbett came off the bench to equalise before Scully scored an unlikely late winner. Here are six of the best photographs capturing the moods of the night.
