West Ham United were once linked with new Chelsea signing Timo Werner but should use the big money move to their advantage.
West Ham reportedly made an ambitious move for the German forward last January (Daily Star).
In the end West Ham spent £45million on Sebastien Haller in the summer.
The Hammers are focused on signing a strike partner to help Haller in the next window according to insiders Claret & Hugh.
The Frenchman has cut an isolated figure this season and has just seven goals from 29 games.

West Ham could use Werner move to their advantage
The harsh reality is Werner was always destined for a club competing in the Champions League.
But West Ham boss David Moyes should try to use the Chelsea signing to his advantage.
That’s because young striker Tammy Abraham’s contract talks with Chelsea have reportedly become deadlocked following Frank Lampard’s decision to sign Werner.
The Werner move comes after Chelsea also opted to extend Olivier Giroud’s contract.
According to the likes of The Athletic the Werner signing and Giroud extension have big implications for Abraham, who has two years left to run on his contract in West London.

Abraham talks stall and he ticks all the boxes for Moyes
Abraham was a sensation for Lampard’s youthful Chelsea this season, firing 16 goals.
He had gone off the boil and dropped down the pecking order in the second half of the season, though.
Moyes has made it clear he wants to build a new-look West Ham team around young, hungry, athletic players (whufc.com and beIN Sports).
That has been backed up by claims from Claret & Hugh this week that West Ham will look to sign players who are 25 and under.
Abraham ticks a lot of boxes for West Ham and Moyes.
So West Ham should test the water with an enquiry for the striker, who had been shipped out on several loans prior to this season.

Moyes makes striker to help Haller a priority
The Athletic claims talks over Abraham’s new deal have stalled with Chelsea currently unwilling to hand him a contract similar to the £120,000-a-week basic salary awarded to Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The report also adds that Abraham is unhappy that he wasn’t notified of Chelsea’s intention to sign Werner before the deal was agreed and hit the back pages in the last week.
Whether West Ham will have the money to push through a permanent deal for Abraham in the summer remains to be seen.
But a loan with an option to buy might be a viable alternative.
West Ham have been linked with Brentford striker Ollie Watkins (The Sun), who would likely cost them a similar amount.
The Hammers have also been linked with Abraham’s Chelsea teammate Michy Batshuayi (The Express).
But Claret & Hugh claim interest in the Belgian is long since dead.
