Speculation over for West Ham as Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa allegedly eyes reunion with 26-y/o?

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa wants to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this summer. And if the Whites do sign the Belgian, it will end years of speculation linking him with a move to West Ham.

In other news…Another complication for West Ham as Leeds reportedly want to sign £32m ‘warrior’

The Hammers have been linked with the Blues hitman for over two-and-a-half years now.

The Sun first reported about West Ham’s interest in the 26-year-old in January 2018.

And then the Sun claimed just last month that David Moyes wants to bring Batshuayi to the London Stadium this summer.

But it now seems that the Belgium international could reunite with Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa and swap Stamford Bridge for Elland Road before the start of next season.

The Evening Standard claims that the Argentine has registered his interest in bringing the 26-year-old to Leeds this summer.

Batshuayi worked under the Whites boss during their time together at Marseille.

Long-running rumour could finally be put to bed

And if the Belgian does end up moving to the west Yorkshire outfit, West Ham fans will surely all breath a big sigh of relief.

The reports linking the Belgium international with a move to the Hammers have been relentless over the past two years. If anything, they have become boring.

And Batshuayi joining another club on a permanent deal would finally end all of that speculation.

The Chelsea hitman has turned West Ham down on more than one occasion. So the last thing us Hammers fans wanted was to see him arrive at the London Stadium this summer.

And it seems as though we might just get our wish.

It will still be interesting to see how the 26-year-old gets on if he does indeed end up at Leeds, however.
