West Ham United have been linked with a move to reunite sign out of contract midfielder Samir Nasri with Manuel Pellegrini.

According to The Daily Mail former France star Nasri wants £5m-a-year to move to West Ham.

The Mail claims the former Arsenal and Manchester City man is in talks with the Hammers after completing a drugs ban.

Injuries have robbed West Ham of creativity

Nasri, 31, is said to keen on the move but wants just under £100,000-a-week.

The playmaker, who won the Premier League title with Pellegrini at City, was banned from football in February (Telegraph) but is available on a free as an out of contract player.

With Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko likely both out for the rest of the season Nasri could plug a hole in Pellegrini’s armoury.

The Frenchman, last seen playing his trade for Antalyaspor in Turkey, will certainly offer West Ham something different.

‘No. Thanks. But no’

And there is the added bonus that he knows Pellegrini, London and the Premier League well and would presumably not need time to adjust to life in England.

The news has not gone down particularly well with some West Ham fans on Twitter, though.

Many feel Nasri is finished at the top level.

Others are annoyed by his reported wage demands and many would rather the Hammers give the money to young star Declan Rice instead.
